scottyboy

I spent some time on this picture, first I colored in the background Because I thought if I made everything grey and make the blues pop out it would look pretty cool so when I got done with the coloring in the back I started on the hair I spent a little time on the hair then the face I corrected the face and then messed with the hue and made the blues pop out. The shirt then contrast's with the eyes making this a beautiful picture.

I'm going to have to go with Twitch on this one and say, show you're originals! I like what you did here, but coloring in the background may not have been the best thing. You probably should have lassoed around the background and added a small feather with before filling it in with black. Another thing is that you could have made it a dark grey instead of a solid black. there are a lot of subtle things you could have done to the background to even out the focus and tones. And, before I take my leave, one way to get a really good black and white photo is to copy the original layer and desaturating it. After, you set the layer to color. This gives the picture the same tonal range as the original photo, but it will be in black in white. Try that and post it. I'd love to hear from you to see if it worked.
